HEMINGFORD LEGACY BOND
Our school is the heart of our community. It's where our children learn and grow, where our teachers inspire, and where our community comes together. But our current facilities are facing challenges that need to be addressed to ensure a safe, modern, and effective learning environment for every student. On May 13, our community will decide on urgent facility needs with a bond not to exceed $17,975,000.

Why We Need to Act
Safety and Security: It's time to eliminate the outdated modular classrooms and bring all students under one roof. This will enhance safety for everyone. Connecting the gym to the main school will reduce the amount of time students pass to classes outside. The only time students will walk outside is to go to the ag building.
Space Constraints: Our current cafeteria and kitchen are too small and inefficient, leading to long lunch lines and extra steps for our kitchen staff. Elementary classrooms in the 1926 building aren't large enough for today's class sizes. The gym is overused, hosting everything from sports events to concerts and plays. Our weight room is undersized and overcrowded, and our girls wrestling team lacks dedicated practice space.
Improved Student Drop Off: With a secure entrance and new location for the elementary wing, students drop-off and pick-up can move away from the busy highway.
Aging Infrastructure: Our buildings are aging, with outdated systems and ongoing maintenance needs that are becoming increasingly expensive. This includes aging electrical and plumbing systems, and inefficient windows. Fixing these issues now keeps our buildings efficient and usable well into the future.

Elevator for Accessibility: A new elevator will finally allow all students, staff and visitors to be able to easily navigate all floors of the school. This also includes a second stairwell for safety, adding a lift to the stage, and additional ADA-compliant bathrooms.

Larger Ag Shop & Better Flow: The ag shop is bursting at the seams with student projects. Additions will alleviate overcrowding and enhance the overall flow of the school.
